The Chambers of GD Tetteh was established in 2005 with the ethos of being a dynamic forward thinking set, offering sensitive and efficient service with the necessary expertise and excellence to meet the client’s needs. Since its conception, the chambers has developed and grown, maintaining these underlying principles, remaining focused on being an innovative robust chambers. This locality gives our team a fantastic platform to all areas of London, and the UK from the major transport hubs.

We undertake a diverse range of work, spanning public and private cases. Chambers handles direct access cases across all our practice areas aimed at saving the general public time, cost and effort. Our policy is to accept instructions and briefs from various clients without discrimination. We have a dedicated team of barristers with a wide range of experience and a remarkable reputation within the legal profession as a result of our impressive standards.

Our friendly clerks’ room is available from 8:30am to 5:30pm to answer any questions or book any appointments.

MANAGEMENT

Chambers offers the flexibility that allow each barrister to develop their practice individually to enhance their practice with the encouragement, assistance and close cooperation of other members. All of this is done within the framework of a closely knitted team geared towards developing the individual as well as the team. In the light of the current economic downturn, Chambers gives due consideration to the personal circumstances of its members as well as prospective members. We understand that these are difficult times and we ensure that we are better placed to ride the storm together.

FEES

All members of Chambers undertake both private and publicly funded work. For private work, fees can be charged at an hourly rate, or in a single lump sum. The fee rates are dependent on the seniority of the barrister in question and the nature and complexity of the case. We are always happy to provide an estimate of the total fees before instructions are accepted. In all cases, our clerks are happy to negotiate fees to suit the circumstances of the client and the barrister.

PUBLIC FUNDING

Where a client is publicly funded, the standard contractual terms 2013 do not apply when services are provided under a public funding certificate.

PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY INSURANCE

Each barrister in Chambers holds a professional indemnity insurance covered by Bar Mutual (www.barmutual.co.uk).
